THEO 650: Evolutionary Ethics
When discussing the issues associated with Evolutionary Ethics, it must be
noted that the premise of the belief is rooted in the thought that man’s
moral obligations are connected to his own growth and development.
[1]This would imply that man was in control of what would be deemed
right or wrong, good or bad. This would also imply that based on man’s
influence the very nature of justice or righteousness fall outside the power
and authority of God.
########### As it has been asserted, the chief issue with Evolutionary Ethics is
its attempt to eliminate God’s influence over mankind. The belief asserts
that everything is at the mercy of man’s interpretation, understanding,
and implementation of what is moral or ethical. It discounts the provisions
given by God’s laws, commands, and moral decrees and looks to usurp all
power and authority from God. This brings to bear the concept of
